The evidence behind the profile

Sources & methodology

What is measured

Provider-reported fixed broadband availability from the FCC Broadband Data Collection. Availability is not subscriber count, market share, revenue or measured service quality.

Company identity

A profile follows one FCC provider ID. Filed brands are shown where published. Affiliates and acquisitions under other IDs are not consolidated; ownership is described only where reviewed.

Different measures, different scopes

Technology rows can overlap and must not be summed. State coverage uses residential-unit estimates. Competition counts distinct qualifying residential locations at 100/20 Mbps and excludes satellite and CT, DC, HI and RI. Metro position is census-block co-presence inside the blocks the operator serves, which is a coarser test than the address-level competition measure.

Reading change and comparisons

Only explicitly comparable reporting periods contribute to change. Filings, entity changes and denominator revisions can affect movement. Similar reported scale does not establish a strategic peer.
